ich hab lang nicht mehr gebloggt.. aber jetzt hab ich einen verdammt guten Grund wieder anzufangen - die deutsche Politik!

Gestern wurde das lang umkämpfte Gesetz gegen Kinderpornographie beschlossen, das Zugangserschwernisgesetz. Im allgemeinen kann man da ja nicht gegen haben wird sich jetzt vermutlich Otto-Normal User denken, Kinderpornographie gehört verboten. Stimmt auch, soweit kann ich voll zustimmen: Kinderpornographie gehört verboten und aus dem Netz genommen.

Und genau das ist einer (von vielen) Kritikpunkten am neuen Gesetz: Es erlaubt die Sperrung der ?KiPo Seiten, somit werden sie für Otto-Normal User nicht mehr zugänglich... der Rest der Welt kann sie aber immer noch sehen. Ob das dem armen Kind das da vergewaltigt worden ist hilft?! Ich bezweifel das.

Die Sperrung der Seiten hat einen weiteren entscheidenen Nachteil: Die Betreiber der Seiten werden sehr schnell feststellen dass Ihre Seite gesperrt ist und sich einfach eine neue Seite und einen neuen Server suchen - sprich eine solche Sperrung kann den Seitenbetreibern als Frühwarnsystem dienen - ist doch toll, schützen wir doch einfach mal die Täter anstatt die Opfer! Immer Opfer schützen ist ja auch reichlich langweilig.

Was noch unerwähnt ist an technischen und sozialen Kritikpunkten am neuen Gesetz ist: Jeder halbwegs erfahrene Internetbenutzer (und hiermit meine ich nicht unsere Politiker) kann diese Sperre innerhalb von Minuten umgehen indem er einen anderen DNS Server einstellt.

Okay, denkt jetzt Otto-Normal User: Besser irgendwas tun als gar nix oder?! Kinderpornographie ist böse, da ist jedes Mittel legal.

Scheinbar haben sich unsere Politiker genau das auch gedacht, weil neben den oben aufgeführten technischen und sozialen Kritikpunkten eckt das Gesetz auch noch nebenbei juristisch gesehen an das Grundgesetz an.

• In $5 (1) des Grundgesetzes steht geschrieben: [...] eine Zensur findet nicht statt.. joa... aber diese Sperre ist doch Zensur?!? Naja, dann gehen wir mal weiter, ich bin ja bekanntlich kein Jurist und kann mich auch täuschen...
• Ein weiterer fundamentaler Grundsatz unserer Demokratie ist die Gewaltenteilung, das neue Gesetz sieht vor, dass das BKA täglich eine Liste mit zu sperrenden Seiten and die Provider schickt und dann diese Seiten gesperrt werden. Außerdem übernimmt das BKA auch noch die Strafverfolgung von bekannt gewordenen Kinderpornokonsumenten -- es entscheidet was illegal ist und verfolgt es auch... meiner Meinung eine Aufhebung der Trennung zwischen Judikative und Exekutive. Aber auch hier kann ich mich auch täuschen.
• Soweit ich weiß ist Polizeigesetz Ländersache, das Gesetz wurde jetzt vom Bund beschlossen.. ja ne ist klar.

Da ich leider juristisch nicht weiter bewandert bin fallen mir gerade keine weiteren Ungereihmtheiten ein. falls jemand noch etwas weiß kann er sich ja melden, ich ergänze dann im Bedarfsfall. Ich hoffe dieser Text hilft jetzt auch Otto-Normal User dabei das Problem dieses Gesetzes zu verstehen und wieso man als Deutscher unbedingt gegen dieses Gesetz protestieren sollte.

After everybody though that Midnight Commander is dead and the next release of it will be released together with hurd, it is very cool to announce that a new team of developers are active again.

I've created a small contest together with several other guys. We'll try to get as much as possible spams on a emailadress. The people with the most spam and viruses on his emailaccount will win. I think a good starting point is to publish here, we'll see.

Some other things which could end in having success are:

• write the emailadress into the footer of each emailadress as spamtrap.
• subscribe to several websites
• write some guestbook entries with this emailadress

Today I was very nerved by searching for patches for mc. Every distribution has other patches for the same thing, The best point to show this are the utf8/slang patches. There are many different approaches which have different qualtity. Furthermore are in every distribution fixes which are missing in other ones. And I was really pissed by that :S

In order to find a solution I contacted several other maintainers of mc (opensuse, mandriva, mandrake, fedora, ubuntu) and get a reply from several of them. Maybe we'll start to use one repository to start to unify our patches.

My goal with this is to get better patches into debian (and into the other distributions), sharing patches between distributions and unifying them to submit them to upstream. Maybe this will help to get patches from distributions faster into the upstreams CVS.

We'll see what will happen. I'm looking forward to the result of this initiative

Yeah.. finally we're preparing everything in order to leave for the CLT08. Two days on the debian booth in Chemnitz, some very cool talks about various topics, of course party and meeting some people there.

As the title already suggests, this domain (and every subdomain) is now using a signed and verified Certificate from CaCert. If you want you can add ?CaCert as a Certification Authority to your browser. You can get their root certificate from here. After the import of this Certification Authority you'll should be able to see all my webpages without a warning..

I've written some days ago a patch for the mutt sidebar patch in order to enable subfolder support there.

The big issue was that if there were folders as "Debian/mc/commits" they were displayed as "commits". So everything before the last / is cutted of.

In order to fix this I've to replace this piece of code:

And hey.. subfolders are displayed correctly now in the sidebar. I've send the patch to the debian maintainer and I'll hope that he like it.

I switched today my blog from a svn backend to a git backend, since the svn post-commit hook doesn't work for web commits on svn. (I doesn't get a email for changes via the web interface).

Yes, as the title states, the Google Summer of Code 2007 is now finally over (ended on 20.8). I've uploaded my plugin I wrote for this wiki here to this place. So you're free to download and test it!

This plugin will be included into the next release of ikiwiki i guess. For details about this plugin have a look here.

It was fun to work on an other opensource project and I think I would like to work further on it.

So here are some things I want to see in ikiwiki:

• Tex output. (Convert the html pages into tex)
• Pdf output. (Convert the html pages into a pdf)
• ...

For both the backend would be basically the same. We'll see how it will work.
