My Dad remind me yesterday what Microsoft has changed with MS Vista:
Of course, it looks now much better, it is very eyecandy and has of course more special effects as compiz or beryl for Linux. irony You don’t believe me? Okay look at the features list of Vista and look on what compiz is able to do!
Okay, of course Microsoft has also improved how they handle licensing, since many huge firms need Microsoft and the want to make it much easier for them to work and register their PC’s in the firm now everybody who buys a Volume License has to register every PC online or on a special registration server inside their firm, which handle the registration and connect to Microsoft. (For your information: With MS XP you don’t need to activate every license).
Okay…. furthermore every PC, which runs Vista, has to be online… the PC’s have to reregister themselves every 180 days… if the reregistrations fails because of no internet access, or the lookup of your keys said that this key is illegal your Vista will deactivate some features or only start an browser to registrate your license again…
Imaging how much fun this make if your PC are in machines which are not online… what should such firms do? Stay with XP?… okay fine… but what if XP isn’t supported anymore? Move to Linux? (yeah this would be great!!! :-P)
